Swati Sain, the founder of SainSisters, was born and raised in Jaipur. She pursued her post-graduation in law and, after completing her LLM, began working as an Assistant Professor at MJRP University. During the COVID-19 period, she connected with artisans from Bagru, Jaipur, and was deeply inspired by their craftsmanship. Wanting to support and showcase their work, she started promoting them on Instagram. This passion led to the birth of SainSisters, a brand dedicated to uplifting small artisans by giving them a platform. With overwhelming support from the community, the brand launched its website in May 2023. Eventually, Swati made the bold decision to quit her stable academic career and dedicate herself fully to SainSisters. Despite having no prior experience in textiles or design, her love for the craft and the unwavering support of artisans gave her the courage to move forward. Initially, she faced resistance from family and society, as leaving a promising career was seen as an unwise decision. However, she persevered, building a strong community of artisans and a dedicated team. Today, SainSisters stands as a sustainable, women-led brand, with 95% of its employees and artisans being women. It has grown beyond a business—becoming a movement that empowers women and preserves traditional craftsmanship.
